PCSO Lotto Odds Explained: Which Game Gives You the Best Chance?
The real odds of every PCSO lotto game, from 1 in 961 for EZ2 to 1 in 40 million for Ultra Lotto 6/58 — and why “hot numbers” do not change them.
- Lotto 6/42 has the best six-number odds (1 in 5,245,786); Ultra Lotto 6/58 has the worst (1 in 40,475,358).
- Every number combination is equally likely — past results do not affect future draws.
- Smaller games like 4D, 3D and 2D have far better odds but smaller fixed prizes.
“Anong laro ang pinakamadaling manalo?” — Which game is easiest to win? It is the most common question we get. The honest answer comes from simple maths, and once you see the numbers you will make smarter choices about where your pesos go.
How lotto odds are calculated
For a six-number game, the odds of hitting the jackpot equal the number of ways to choose 6 numbers from the pool. Mathematicians call this a “combination”. For Lotto 6/42 that is 5,245,786 possible combinations, so one ticket has a 1 in 5,245,786 chance. If you like the formula, the lottery mathematics article on Wikipedia explains it well.

What 1 in 40 million really looks like
Numbers that big are hard to picture. Imagine buying one Ultra Lotto ticket every draw — three times a week. On average it would take about 259,000 years to hit the jackpot once. That is why we always say lotto is entertainment, not a financial plan. Our budget tips help keep it that way.

Hot numbers, cold numbers and the gambler’s fallacy
Many players track “hot” numbers that appear often or “cold” numbers that are “due”. It feels logical, but each draw is independent. The balls have no memory. Believing that a number is due because it hasn’t appeared lately is called the gambler’s fallacy.
So does that mean you shouldn’t use birthdays or a suki combination? Not at all — pick whatever makes you happy. Just know it doesn’t change the odds. You can also let our random number generator choose for you.
One clever (legal) tip: avoid popular combinations
You can’t improve your odds of winning, but you can improve how much you keep if you win. Jackpots are shared among all winning tickets, and many people pick birthdays (1–31) or patterns like 1-2-3-4-5-6. Choosing a mix that includes numbers above 31 means fewer people are likely to share your combination.
